Printed Circuit Board Design

CONTROLLED IMPEDANCE

Controlled impedance transmission lines with tight tolerances are created with multi-layer boards, using microstrip, stripline, isolated stripline, dual stripline and cross-talk minimization techniques. Blind and buried via implementations are quite common to achieve complex interconnects and electrical performance. Low inductance power and ground distribution and provisions for low inductance noise decoupling are standard features in all designs. The designer has complete control of the board implementation process. Process monitors are vital parts of all designs. All boards are subjected to comprehensive testing before shipping to customers.

PROPAGATION DELAY MATCHING

Using sophisticated layout tools and having a mastery of high performance board design enables Circuit Spectrum to guarantee propagation delay matching to +/-10 picoseconds. Where a via is used for layer to layer interconnect of a signal line, the propagation delay contributed by the via is accounted for by delay matching software. Tight propagation delay matching is one of the highlights of Circuit Spectrum's board designs.

HIGH SPEED TEST

Circuit Spectrum utilizes state of the art layout techniques and appropriate dielectric and substrate materials to design and produce high performance boards. The impact of signal line-length and dielectric materials on band-width and rise-time degradation is assessed in the design process.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

A connection table or net list in electronic form as a spreadsheet file is supplied with each design and each board shipment. This eliminates the task of entering the interconnect information into the test system, thus eliminating the risk of errors which come from manual entry of the net list. The spreadsheet contains transmission line length data as well. Time domain reflectometry (TDR) data is also provided upon request. These can be used as verification of the design criteria used by Circuit Spectrum.

BOARD DELIVERY

Any generic product can be shipped in 2-3 weeks, fully assembled. Custom boards can usually be delivered in 4-6 weeks. Quicker turnaround is available if needed. For pricing and the most recent list of products, please consult Circuit Spectrum directly.
